A SIMPLE WAY OF POSITIONING A HORSE

ON NEW HOOF RAILS

(1) Lay a hoof rail along side the hooves with an even amount beyond each hoof.
(Very few horses legs extend the same distance beyond the body box!)

(2) Divide the saddle area in half and drop this line down to mark the hoof rail.

(3) On a 62.5cm body box, the centre of the  swing iron bearings will be 4cm ahead of the saddle center mark. This will enable you to check that the bearings are clear of the hooves & it will allow the horse to come to the head-up position more easily than the head down. On a 56cm body it is 3.5cm & on a 73cm body it is 5cm.
